A-Series Seat Latch Replacement Guide

This guide covers replacing the seat latch on A-Series models including the MZFT, M1D, and B1G across all trims. Seat latch replacement can be completed on or off the bike.

Compatible Models
  • SUPER73-MZFT (all trims)
  • SUPER73-M1D (all trims)
  • SUPER73-B1G (all trims)
Parts Required
  • Seat Latch, A-Series
Tools Required
  • 5mm allen wrench

  • 10mm open-ended wrench

Instructions

Loosen and remove the four 5mm allen bolts above the seat latch, at the front of the seat.

After removing the bolts, set them aside. Remove the top cover first, then the bottom cover. Set all hardware and covers safely to the side.

Loosen and remove the two 10mm lock nuts retaining the seat latch to the seat. Once removed, the seat latch can be separated from the seat.

Install the new seat latch with the oblong portion pointing toward the rear of the bike and away from the handlebars. Install the two 10mm lock nuts loosely, then tighten until snug.

Install the bottom seat latch cover first, fitting the new latch through the opening. Then install the top cover and loosely install the four 5mm allen bolts to secure both covers. Tighten until snug.
